The new Media library has been set up by the commune of Saint-Laurent-sur-Gorre for use by the Community of Communes who also provide the day-to-day management of it.
This place of exchange and meetings opened its doors on the 1st April 2003.
It offers users an extensive and diverse range of multi media information at the click of a mouse. With all the latest kit users can familiarise themselves with the new developments in information and communication technology. The centre also offers its facilities, in partnership with the teaching body, meetings and activities for the pupils of the schools of the canton.

The tourist bureau is at your disposal. Its staff are there to answer any questions you may have concerning tourism and to provide a wide range of information relating to local attractions and events. You will find a wealth of literature which you can take away with you, concerning regional activities, curiosities and the inheritance. You can contact Domenica the cultural adviser on.

Created the 1st January 2001, the Community of Communes encompasses the communes of Cognac la forêt, Gorre, St Auvent, St Cyr, Ste Marie de Vaux. Its principal remit covers economic development, housing policy, sports, culture and leisure equipment, the roadway system, refuse collection and recycling points. The Community of Communes has the same administrative limits as the canton and is likewise based at Saint Laurtent-sur-Gorre.
